A regional government recognized a growing challenge: families and professionals lacked centralized, accessible tools to navigate parenting programs or make data-informed decisions about child and youth well-being. Critical information on everything from program availability to demographic trends was scattered across agencies and difficult to act on. The Region needed modern, connected platforms to support both public access and professional planning.

Ryelle Strategy Group led the development of two interconnected digital platforms designed to bridge access, data, and decision-making:

Child & Family Data Portal

We collaborated with a regional child- and youth-focused network to design and implement a robust public-facing data portal that enables service providers, researchers, and policymakers to:

• Access community and neighbourhood-level data across seven key developmental indicators
• Explore demographic trends, safety data, health outcomes, education metrics, and more
• Visualize findings using interactive maps and dashboards to support planning and funding decisions
• Leverage local evidence to gain deeper insight into the lived experiences of children, youth, and families across the region

Regional Parenting Support Platform

In parallel, we developed a digital navigation tool for families that offers:

• Real-time access to parenting programs, courses, and workshops
• Filtering by child age, program type, location, and agency
• Google Maps integration for easy service location
• Fully searchable listings with updated dates, contacts, and descriptions

Our Approach

• Conducted extensive consultations with families, service providers, and end users across four municipalities
• Led UX testing and stakeholder co-creation to ensure accessibility, relevance, and ease of use
• Produced a range of training tools and onboarding supports, including explainer videos like “Data is Delicious”
• Designed and implemented research protocols to measure impact, usability, and continuous improvement
